Lord's Wood Entrance, Looking Towards Malvern294 viewsThe trees at the entrance to Lord's Wood, with the tip of the Malvern Hills in the distance.

Lord's Wood Entrance to Bransford Road252 viewsAnother shot, from our track, showing the triangle of land owned by us adjacent to the Bransford Road.

Lord's Wood Track279 viewsThis photograph is taken from our track leading into Lord's Wood. The camera is looking south, towards Lord's Wood Cottage. The brick structure is, I believe, an old chicken coop. According to our recorded title documents, our property line runs on the eastern side (left in this photograph) of the chicken coop. As shown by this photograph, the fence is quite a distance from the coop. This is being double-checked by our surveyor.

Lord's Wood Track269 viewsOur track leading to Lord's Wood is shown on the left of this springtime (mid-May) photograph. Lord's Wood itself is in the distance, past the sheep pasture.

Front of Woodman's Cottage241 viewsAs best we can tell, the front boundary of Woodman's Cottage is circa 8.9 meters from the front (south) of the Woodman's Cottage garage. This photograph was taken from the west, facing towards the east. Marjorie is standing behind the hedge at the point 8.9 meters south of the front of the cottage. Assuming we're correct (and our surveyor is checking this now) the area to the right (south) of the red line is our property.

New Lord's Wood Gate312 viewsSome neighbours objected to our green burial planning application because they thought --- incorrectly --- that Lord's Wood was some sort of community "amenity." It is, in fact, our private property, and contains no public footpaths. To demonstrate this, we have reluctantly put up an electric fence and gate at the entrance.

Lord's Wood Fence and Gate279 viewsOur insurance company has asked us to please keep folks out of the woods. We have tried to do so gently, but some people have felt we were somehow in the wrong. "I've walked my dog here for 25 years," was a typical response. Alas, if you run red lights all the time, the policeman will still give you a ticket if he sees you doing so.

Lord's Wood Electric Gate606 viewsWe have a green burial forum where you can post your comments and questions. If you don't like the new electric gate, or have other suggestions, etc. --- please post them on our forum. Simply visit www.luciesfarm.com/green. Or you can always e-mail me: craig@luciesfarm.com

Sewage in Lord's Wood261 viewsUnfortunately, Lord's Wood Cottage (not under our ownership) is draining unprocessed sewage into Lord's Wood. This may have been the accepted practice in the past, but it crates a foul smell and health hazard just inside the woodland. We are working with the Malvern Hills District Council to remedy this.

Side of Lord's Wood Cottage With New Addition278 viewsThis photograph, taken looking south down the Lord's Wood access road, showing the new addition on the eastern side of Lord's Wood Cottage. I believe that the fence encroaches on our property, and the new addition is right up to the fence line.

Cars Parked at Lord's Wood Cottage337 viewsThe old (apparently Victorian) chicken coop is shown by the red arrow on the right. Our deeds to the Lord's Wood track show that the boundary line runs next to this chicken coop. The fence line is considerably to the east of this wall.
