| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Marmadukes Luxury Hotel and the Four Poster Bed172 viewsFor some reason the management or decorator at Marmadukes Luxury Hotel thought the four poster bed (designed, apparently, by the guy who designed the beds in the Harry Potter movies) was the most important thing in the room. It filled the room. In fact, one of the four posts actually went up and into the antique chandelier. You couldn't use the single bedside lamp: it was behind a non-retractable curtain. Marjorie trying to read in the dark, in this hotel-from-Hell.

Merlin -- A bit of Guernsey | Kobe5996 viewsWe recently purchased Carole, a pure-bred Guernsey cow, as our "house cow." The farmers who sold us Carole are getting out of the dairy business, so their bull, Merlin, was set to go to the chop. The Guernsey Cattle Society tells me Guernsey beef is delicious, so Merlin has had a bit of a reprieve. He gets to eat grain and grass and drink beer --- for a year.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4048 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
