Merlin -- A bit of Guernsey | Kobe5991 زيارةWe recently purchased Carole, a pure-bred Guernsey cow, as our "house cow." The farmers who sold us Carole are getting out of the dairy business, so their bull, Merlin, was set to go to the chop. The Guernsey Cattle Society tells me Guernsey beef is delicious, so Merlin has had a bit of a reprieve. He gets to eat grain and grass and drink beer --- for a year.

The Broken Water Meter188 زيارةWe had a leak at a pig trough. Pavel couldn't find a way to turn off the water to the trough, so turned off all of our water. When he tried to turn it back on, he broke off the valve next to our water meter. Severn Trent came along and painted a big blue arrow and gave us some bottles of water. The pile of blocks was to try to hold down the lid to the water meter/valve.

Tamworth Pig and "Sinister" Pig2506 زيارةThe red Tamworth stands behind what we call a "sinister" pig. The "sinister" is a cross between an iron age pig (itself a cross between a wild boar and a Tamworth pig) and a Gloucester Old Spot pig.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4038 زيارةWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor.
