| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Hmm, how do I get out of this?261 viewsLord Rannoch, our Highland bull, smashed through the thick (and, we thought, sturdy) wooden fence while we were watching to take on Ballet Cruz, an Aberdeen Angus bull. Poor move, Rannoch. This shows that horns are no match for a size and youth. Fortunately, only Rannoch's pride was injured. Zbig and Gregorz ran into the fray (sort of) and separated the two angry bulls.

The Lodge at Koele - Lana`i, Hawaii258 viewsLocated in the "highlands" of Lana`i, with a gorgeous jacaranda tree. Marjorie and I spent an afternoon by the pool, never thinking that the sun was actually going to burn us. The cool, upcountry air tricked us --- we were both quite sunburned.

Japanese Spitz265 viewsAccording to their hand-out at Crufts, the Japanese Spitz is "affectionate, companionable. Can be slightly chary at first meeting with strangers." This one was gorgeous. (The sweater in the background was apparently knit from Spitz hair -- hopefully that had been brushed out.) To visit their website please click here.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4042 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
