Marjorie gave me a trip to Jordan on the Concorde for my 40th Birthday. Our first stop was Aqaba, where they had a reception for us. Most passengers had a lot to drink, and there were a lot of poorly passengers on the hot bus in the later afternoon.

Award Winning Eggsvu 406 foisJust after I took this photograph, a gorgon came running up to me to ask if I had permission to take photos. I said "no," but I explained I was a Life Governor of the Society, and had taken photos at the show for years. I said if I needed permission, a simple sign or courteous comment would be appreciated. I'm 56 years old: far too old to be yelled at by petty functionaries guarding eggs.
