Garden Path at Kealaolu Avenue, Kahala364 пъти видянаNana and my mother, Shirley, examining the flowers on the garden path at Kealaolu Avenue in Kahala. My guess is this is from the mid 1940's. Nana and Baba sold their Kealaolu Avenue house circa 1947, and felt they had enough money to move into a hotel for the rest of their lives. And that's what they did: they moved into the Niumalu Hotel, on the site of the present Hilton Hawaiian Village. That lasted about a year.

Front of Whitecroft, Minus the Lawn - Spring 1991136 пъти видянаAll of the topsoil and turf are piled on the left. These were removed, and the new turf planted directly on the clay --- whereupon it drowned. This work was specified and overseen by Corscadden Associates, a firm of landscape architects who should have known better. Their PI insurance paid for the re-do.
