Kiko in the Gardenvista 163 vecesMay 1, 2007 -- Kiko's 12th Birthday. He'd had surgery about a month earlier to remove part of his lung: biopsies, x-rays, and CAT scans had been inconclusive. Unfortunately he had lung cancer. He was fine up until his birthday. He wanted to spend most of the day outside -- fortunately it was warm and sunny. He came in at 7:00 PM, and then died, with Marjorie and me with him, at 11:00 PM. On the couch, his favourite place.

The Six Pearsvista 314 vecesWe bought these six pears from Solstice in London. They're from France, and the tips of the stems have been sealed with red wax. But the pears looked a bit beat up when they arrived (I took this photograph shortly after we opened the box). They taste great --- but I'm not overly fond of all the cuts and bruises.
